It has been reported that a complaint has been made to the US International Trade Commission against Toyota over the importation of its products to the US.

It is believed that Paice LLC have raised a complaint alleging that they own the rights to various patents which are being infringed by Toyota.

The patents relate to an invention for supplying torque to the vehicles wheels through the use of an internal combustion engine and electrically operated motors. It is reportedly alleged that various Toyota vehicles being imported into the US contain technology which infringes its patents.

If the vehicles are found to contain infringing articles then the International Trade Commission has the power to block any imports containing the articles.
