The rumour site 'Think Secret' has been shut down by the computing behemoth Apple.

This is a long running dispute which started back in 2005 when Think Secret published previously unreleased details about Apple's forthcoming Mac Mini.

A Californian court initially sided with Apple but on appeal it was decided that the bloggers should afford the same protection as journalists.

Think Secret have though agreed with Apple to shut down the site in return for keeping the anomity of their sources, the publisher said: "I'm pleased to have reached this amicable settlement, and will now be able to move forward with my college studies and broader journalistic pursuits."

As for Apple, all they said was that they were "happy to have this behind us."
