One of the main reasons why shoppers love the high street is because they can bag ‘look-alike’ designer clothes at bargain prices.

Seeing that it is currently London Fashion week, this article is particularly pertinent- high street stores, take note!

Designer Chloé has amazingly succeeded in preventing high street favourite Top Shop from selling a yellow dungaree dress which they claimed was almost identical to one of their designs.

Similarly, Jimmy Choo has also prevented high street shop Oasis from selling a range of shoes that were near identical versions of shoes that feature in Jimmy Choo’s Summer 2007 collection.

So, although this is a triumph for intellectual property rights, we may ask, ‘what benefit does this give the consumer- especially the consumer who is looking for a bargain?
