Jake Hager Jr. aka Jack Swagger, the former World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) superstar made his MMA debut at Bellator 214 on 26 January 2019 against J.W. Kiser. The American professional wrestler and mixed martial artist had discussed his fight with the press before the big night and even talked about his former employer, the WWE, and the possibility of trademarking his wrestling name.

On a recent interview with SportingNews.com, Hager would comment on his relationship with the WWE stating that ‘I still have a very good relationship with WWE. That's why they are allowing R-Truth to perform my entrance on Saturday…I thought that was a very good sign from them. It's a little bit of writing on the wall from them’. He also mentioned that he intends to trade mark his ‘Jack Swagger’ name, as he would like to represent himself as ‘Swagger’ in subsequent Bellator fights. ‘As far as the Jack Swagger name, they do not have it trademarked. I'm in the process of trademarking the name. I know there's a singer who has it trademarked for musical performances but this isn't music. I think I have a good chance of owning it down the line. I won't have the name for this fight, but hopefully, by the second fight it will be Jack Swagger’.
