An 18 year old feud was ended this week when Disney successfully won a court case in LA. The Judge in the case found that the owner Stephen Slesinger had transferred all of his rights in the Pooh works to Disney. As a consequence he could not now claim infringement.
His daughter was reported as saying "Judge Florence Cooper provided a potential and an elegant middle-ground solution that will allow us to go forward with our business relationship - hopefully without more litigation."
The Slesingers case had focused on Disney's breach of contract, and that they had failed to disclose accurate royalty figures for sales of merchandise.
