Nokia has today released a press release filed with the Federal District Court in Delaware, which relate to its IPR and technologies that it says are paramount to making devices compatible with one or more mobile standards.

Vice president of Nokia 's IP Ilkka Rahnasto, said "The basic principle in the mobile industry is that those companies who contribute in technology development to establish standards create intellectual property, which others then need to compensate for. Apple is also expected to follow this principle..........by refusing to agree on appropriate terms for Nokia's intellectual property, Apple is attempting to get a free ride on the back of Nokia's innovation". Nokia has a huge patent portfolio and it was only a matter of time it began to flex its muscles.

Apple have yet to comment but if the dispute escalates then its going to be a big one!
