The long running patent dispute between Apple and Nokia has intensified.

Apple have filed a request to the Federal Trade Commission in an attempt to block the importation of Nokia smartphones into the US.

The dispute broadly relates to patent, copyright and trade mark infringement and has been running for many months. It is claimed that Apple were infringing 10 of Nokia's patents in its extremely successful iPhone, the patents cover security, encryption, wireless data etc. In December 2009 Apple issued a counterclaim against Nokia claiming that Nokia was infringing 13 patents owned by Apple relating to list scrolling, document translation, rotation etc.
