US rapper Dr Dre has issued a claim against Death Row Records.

Dr Dre claims that he has not received any royalties from the label since 1996 and is owed a substantial amount. Dr Dre further claims that the re-release of his album 'The Chronic' and also a best of album were without his consent.

Dr Dre's lawyer Howard King has been quoted as saying: "When it came to paying artist royalties and honouring limits on Dr Dre recordings that could be released, the 'new' Death Row Records, to quote our client, 'forgot about Dre'. This lawsuit will make sure they remember". Dr Dre is claiming breach of contract, false advertising and trade mark infringement.
