Asics v Skechers

It has been reported this week that a claim for trade mark infringement has been brought by Asics America Corp against Skechers USA Inc.

Skechers USA Inc make the well know 'Skechers' shoes/ trainers and it has been reported that Asics are claiming that the design of the shoe infringes its trade mark, dilutes its product/ brand and that the design is confusingly similar to theirs.

It is believed that the claim has been issued in the U.S District Court, Central District of California and that an injunction is being sought to prevent further sales of the products. It is also believed to be seeking damages and an account of profits.
