Matthew Peacock v MGN Ltd (2009)

A dispute between Matthew Peacock and the newspaper publisher MGN Ltd has been settled.

The dispute related to a comment published in the Sunday supplement of the newspaper which stated that Matthew Peacock has been violent towards his ex-wife. It also stated that the alleged violence was the cause of the marital breakup.

MGN Ltd did not seek clarification from Matthew Peacock as to the validity of the claims and published them in the newspaper and online.

After a claim for libel was brought against MGN Ltd it agreed that the statements were untrue and removed the online version of the article. It also agreed to pay Matthew Peacock damages.
