Copyright Infringement Claim - Madea Goes to Jail
It has been reported this week that a copyright infringement action has been takes against Tyler Perry.
The American actor, director, screenwriter, producer and author allegedly used a part of a 1950s song called 'I Think of the Goodness of Jesus' written by the late Bertha James in his hit film 'Madea Goes to Jail'.
It is alleged that the entire chorus was used without permission in a scene involving a the lead character.
It is reported that damages are being claimed from Tyler Perry as well as Lionsgate Entertainment who were the studio which distributed the film.
The case is yet to be confirmed.
