We file typically in the UK as this is the easiest and most convenient way to get a ‘filing date’ for your invention, but we can and do file patent applications for clients at the Europe Patent Office, across the globe and international’ PCT patent applications.
Unlike many patent firms Lawdit works to fixed fees. In this manner we do not charge for reporting the many miscellaneous communications from Patent Offices, and do not charge by the hour for conducting administrative necessities.
Being first and foremost commercial solicitors we talk your language. As patent solicitors we also use a network of independent expert consultants to ensure that all inventors are certain to get a specification that is as well claimed as possible.
The first place to start is often with a ‘Prior Art’ search. During a search we would obtain a better idea of generic patentability and novelty.
Our patent search would give you a framework to review where your invention is new and any features that need development or expansion, to enable a stronger application and avoid unnecessary expense. Please be aware that no search provides a definitive answer to novelty or inventive step, as an Examiner will not necessarily find the same prior art.
